There is minimal preparation required for microneedling, however, your esthetician may have recommendations for you to follow so you can enjoy a smooth treatment with the best results possible.

Prior the treatment, it is recommended to avoid:

• Sun exposure for 24 hours leading into the appointment.
• Retin-A and alpha-hydroxy products for 12 hours before the appointment.

After the treatment, for a few days it is recommended to:

• Keep skin care simple by only using gentle cleansers and toners.
• Avoid harsh exfoliating chemicals.
• Avoid scented products.

These recommendations are not an all-inclusive list. For the best results, listen to the recommendations of your esthetician.

Immediately after microneedling, you can expect to experience redness and mild irritation in and around the treatment area that will last up to two days.

Once your skin heals, you will start to notice the benefits gradually over the next few weeks. As microneedling triggers the natural healing processes of the skin, the benefits take time to show. You can expect to continue to enjoy the benefits for up to six months after treatment!
